About the Trainers

 

Rose Thelen has worked nationally and internationally to develop more effective public and private responses to domestic violence.  As a Praxis Technical Assistance Provider she provides training and technical assistance to Office on Violence Against Women grantees. She has been working in the field of domestic violence since 1979, as an advocate, lobbyist, CCR coordinator, trainer, technical assistance provider and author. 

Marcus Bruning has been with the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department since 1993, where he is currently Chief Deputy. He has been a patrol officer, D. A.R.E. Officer, and department trainer. Marcus has been a trainer with the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center since July 2001. He is a national expert on the law enforcement response and the CCR approach.

Judy Wang is a graduate of Montana State University and completed her JD from the University of Montana in 1984.  She is the Assistant City Attorney for the City of Missoula and supervises the criminal prosecution section of that office.  She has worked on legislation  involving domestic violence issues during many legislative sessions.  In 1994 she received the Salute to Excellence Award from the Missoula YWCA for Public Service.  She was the chair of the Missoula Family Violence Council for 10 years.  In 2004 she was Awarded a Life Time Achievement Award by the Attorney General for her work on prosecuting domestic violence cases.  In 2005 she was awarded the Public Servant Award from the Missoula Family Violence Council.    She is a member of Montana's Domestic Violence Fatality Review Commission.
