VOLUNTEERING THROUGH ADVOCACY |
I WOULD LIKE TO BECOME AN ADVOCATE ! |
Becoming an advocate for victims of domestic violence can be a challenging, yet wonderfully rewarding experience. You will become part of HLHAS’s 24 hour crisis line and take calls from people who need help. Sometimes they just need to talk over the phone, sometimes they need someone to come see them, help them with referrals, paperwork, orders of protection, and more.
If you would like to become a volunteer advocate, you will need to complete our advocacy training, where you will learn about the aspects of domestic violence and how to work with victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. It’s not always an easy job, but it can be one of the important things you ever do. |
